SANDAKAN: A fisherman, Ubing Markun, 30, is missing and feared to have been attacked by a crocodile while casting nets at Sungai Sibuga near Taman Kenari on Monday evening.

He left his home in Kampung Batu Putih at 4.40pm, and around 5.20pm, a witness saw a crocodile attacking his boat. The boat was later found empty.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched Tuesday morning involving the Fire Department, police, Civil Defence Force, Wildlife Department’s Special Crocodile Conflict Unit, and local villagers.
