SHAH ALAM, April 13 — Several districts in Selangor will undergo heavy rains, strong winds, and thunderstorms until later this evening, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
In a statement issued at 3.50pm, the agency said the districts include Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.
Elsewhere, other areas and territories which is also affected by inclement weather include Perlis, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, and Cameron Highlands in Pahang.
“Similarly, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu), Penang (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, and Seberang Perai Selatan), and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim) will also see strong weather,” it said.
The weather is expected to persist until 7pm this evening.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
