Five escape crash with minor injuries in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: A Toyota Vios driver who went against traffic after pulling an illegal u-turn at the road divider near the UTC in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, here, Friday, caused a Nissan Vanette to burn in the following crash.

In the 12.45am incident, four people in the van, a man and a woman in their 30s and two children, along with the 26-year-old Vios driver, had escaped with only minor injuries.

Police do not suspect the reckless driver to be drunk driving. However, a blood sample was taken for further investigation under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
