KIMANIS: Five people were injured after the Perodua Axia they were travelling in skidded and crashed along Jalan Bongawan here on Sunday.
The victims comprised a 51-year-old male driver, a 49-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl, a 23-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl.
Kimanis Fire and Rescue Station Chief Nelson Ponji said the station received a distress call through the MERS 999 emergency line at 4.33pm.
He said six firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene in a Fire and Rescue Tender (FRT).
“Upon arrival, we found that the accident involved a Perodua Axia and one of the victims was trapped inside the vehicle and was successfully extricated by firefighters using rescue equipment,” he said.
All five victims were subsequently handed over to Ministry of Health ambulances and taken to hospital for further treatment.
