Five people were injured and two fires broke out in Abu Dhabi after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell near a key industrial zone.

ABU DHABI: Five people were injured in Abu Dhabi on Saturday after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell, the emirate’s media office said.

Two fires broke out in the vicinity of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). KEZAD is part of the AD Ports Group’s portfolio of economic cities and free zones.

Authorities are dealing with the fires. The incident occurred as a result of the missile interception.
