SEMPORNA: Five people, including a girl, were injured in an accident involving a Proton Iswara at Jalan Kalumpang, Ladang Pinang, here, Sunday.

A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 8.47am via MERS999.

He said a team from the Semporna Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene and found eight people were involved, five of whom were injured while the remaining three escaped unhurt.

“The victims were extricated from the vehicle and provided with initial treatment before they were sent to the hospital for further treatment,” said the department.
