Five out of six Selangor towns log unhealthy API readings

SHAH ALAM, Oct 20 - Five of Selangor’s six air quality monitoring stations recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 1pm today.

According to the API Management System (APIMS) portal, Johan Setia had the highest reading in the state at 171, followed by Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam (169) each, Klang (163), and Banting (162).

Kuala Selangor continues to be the only station in Selangor with moderate air quality, with a score of 99.

Johan Setia had the second-highest reading nationwide, behind Kuala Lumpur’s Batu Muda (174). Nearby, Cheras scored 168 while Putrajaya logged 164.

Of Malaysia’s 68 air quality monitoring stations, 28 had unhealthy API readings, 33 had moderate ones, and seven had good scores.

An API reading of zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 300 is hazardous.
