The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued five simultaneous product recalls covering items sold on Amazon, warning that dangers range from chemical burns and asphyxiation to fire hazards and head injuries. The recalls span household goods, children’s toys and protective equipment, with some products having been available since 2022.
In all five cases, the CPSC confirmed that no injuries have been reported. The agency nonetheless stressed that the risks are severe enough to require immediate action, encouraging consumers to check their homes for affected products and follow official guidance without delay.
Batteries, Bed Rails and Mattresses
The largest recall by volume involvesEEMB USA lithium coin batteries. More than 312,000 battery packs were sold on Amazon between August 2023 and April 2026 for between $3 and $9. The hazard lies not with the batteries themselves but with their packaging, which fails to meet child-resistant requirements under Reese’s Law. According to the CPSC, if a child swallows a button cell or coin battery it can lodge in the body and cause severe internal chemical burns within a short time. Consumers are advised to stop using the batteries immediately and contact EEMB USA for a full refund.
A separate recall covers approximately 4,200 Svnntaa bed railssold on Amazon by Eokeanon between August 2023 and January 2026 for around $32. Users can become entrapped within the rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress, creating a serious asphyxiation risk. The rails also fail structural stability and retention strap requirements, and incorrectly sized push pins pose a laceration risk. Consumers are being asked to dismantle and destroy the product before contacting the company for a refund.
Around 670 EVLWZL and Gunugu mattresses have additionally been recalled after failing mandatory flammability standards, raising the risk of fire in the home. Unusually, consumers are not required to return the mattresses; instead, the manufacturer is providing a free fitted cover designed to bring each product into compliance.
Helmets and Children’s Toys
Favoto has recalled approximately 2,200 bicycle helmets sold on Amazon between April 2022 and January 2026 for between $20 and $27. According to the CPSC, the helmets do not meet positional stability, labelling and certification requirements under the federal bicycle helmet standard, meaning they may fail to stay in place or provide adequate protection during a crash. Consumers have been instructed to cut the straps, mark the helmet as “Recalled” and email photographic proof to the company to receive a full refund.
The fifth recall concerns a rainbow-themed wall-mounted toy sold by Justforjoyful. The toy includes a detachable drumstick with a rounded end that violates federal safety rules designed to prevent choking in young children. Around 160 units were sold on Amazon between December 2025 and March 2026. Parents are urged to keep the product away from children and contact the seller for a refund.
For consumers, the recalls serve as a reminder that everyday purchases, from batteries to bed rails, can carry risks that are not immediately apparent. Full guidance on each product is available through the CPSC website.
