KOTA KINABALU: Five transgender women were charged in the Magistrate’s Court here on Tuesday with rioting, which incident captured in a viral video clip last month.

Aldimin Kasim, 25, Nikazwan Sharuddin, 25, Azmil Ali, 18, Steven Chin Ying Lok, 25, all undocumented, and Junidi Joi Abdullah, 26, are jointly accused of committing the offence with the intent to cause injury to one Amiruddin Hasimuddin and one Shah Amier Andyka Abdullah on Feb 25, this year at 12.21 pm, at the roadside of Api-Api Centre, here.

No plea was recorded from the five, who appeared before Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus via Zoom, after the charge under Section 147 of the Penal Code, was read to them.

The Magistrate fixed March 14 for their plea to be taken, ordered the undocumented accused to be remanded, and granted Junidi bail of RM2,000 in two sureties.
