
Five vehicles were gutted in a fire near Sai Temple in Laxmi Dairy Lane, Jawahar Colony, Faridabad, early on Tuesday. The blaze spread rapidly and triggered panic among residents. A nearby house was also damaged. Wall tiles came loose and an air-conditioner was destroyed. The occupants escaped through the back door.
A vehicle caught fire around 4.40 am. The flames quickly spread to four other vehicles parked nearby. Locals tried to douse the fire, but failed to control the flames. Residents said a taxi parked in an empty plot around 2 am may have caught fire first. The blaze then spread to nearby vehicles. Within minutes, all five vehicles were engulfed in flames. A fire brigade team was immediately rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after sustained efforts.
