Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar has jumped to support Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka cupped his ear and told fans to 'f*** off' when he was hauled off in the draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Newcastle defender Schar was shocked by the incident and fears for his compatriot.
"I played with him for years and I know how he is as a person," he said, according to The Sun.
"He's doing everything for Arsenal, which is why he's captain.
"He's a very good guy and people aren't seeing this.
"I will see him in a couple of weeks with the international team and I'll give him a hug.
"It's very hard for a player when your own fans are against you."
