KOTA KINABALU: A Vigo driver escaped unscathed after the vehicle went into a drain as the driver attempted negotiating through flash floods along the Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen’s Tanjung Lipat shoreline and tidal waves driven onshore by high tide on Thursday.
The driver managed to get to safety with help from civilians.
Meanwhile, a 4.15pm call prompted a team from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department to monitor the flood situation.
The stretch is currently only accessible to big vehicles.
On Dec 20, last year, firefighters were also deployed to the same location to monitor the situation where a similar condition was reported. A similar sea condition was also reported in mid-2020.
