Flash flood victims in Segamat increase slightly to 42

JOHOR BARU – The number of flood victims in Segamat district increased slightly to 42 people as of 8am, compared with 36 people yesterday evening.

The District Disaster Management Committee said in a statement that two temporary evacuation centres are still operating to accommodate residents affected by the overflow of Sg Muar, since Wednesday.

“The two centres still open are Balai Raya Kg Batu Badak and Balai Raya Kg Kuala Paya.

“Meanwhile, the affected areas involve residents from Kg Seberang Batu Badak, Kg Batu 5, and Kg Kuala Paya,” it said in the statement.

The weather in Johor is reported to be sunny at the moment, while it is cloudy in some districts namely Mersing, Segamat, Batu Pahat, and Kulai. – Bernama, November 4, 2022
