Flood evacuees in Selangor rise to 3,657 this morning

SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 - The number of flood victims in Selangor continues to rise, with 3,657 individuals from 1,046 families forced to seek shelter at 35 temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 8am today. 

According to the Social Welfare Department's Info Bencana website, the figure is an increase from last night's 3,503 victims from 1,012 families at 33 PPS. 

Of the total number of victims this morning, 1,163 are adult men, 1,155 adult women, 641 boys, 582 girls, 70 infant boys and 47 infant girls.

Kuala Selangor continues to record the highest number of evacuees with 2,474 individuals at 15 PPS, followed by Sepang (841 evacuees, nine PPS), Sabak Bernam (174 evacuees, three PPS), Kuala Langat (162 evacuees, seven PPS) and Klang (six evacuees, one PPS).

Several rivers across the state have reportedly exceeded the warning, alert, and danger levels, according to the Irrigation and Drainage Department’s (JPS) Info Banjir data as of 8am.

In Kuala Selangor, Rantau Panjang recorded 6.25 metres (warning level), Kampung Asahan 3.64 metres (danger level), Parit Mahang 3.9 metres (warning level) and Pintu Air Ijok 4.01 metres (danger level).

In Sabak Bernam, Rimba KDR was measured at 1.84 metres (warning level), while in Kuala Langat, Bukit Changgang stood at 4.18 metres (alert level).

Meanwhile, in Hulu Selangor, Jambatan S.K.C recorded 18.42 metres (warning level).
