Flood situation in Perak, Kelantan, Johor remains unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 — The flood situation in Kelantan, Perak and Johor remains unchanged as of 8 am today.

In PERAK, 307 victims from 59 families are still taking shelter at the temporary relief centre (PPS) at Dewan Kampung Asli Chinggung in Muallim district.

The state Irrigation and Drainage Department reported that the water level at Sungai Perak in Pasang Api, Bagan Datuk, remains at the danger level, measuring 3.11 metres.

In KELANTAN, the number of flood victims remains at 38 individuals from 10 families who are staying at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gual Tok Deh, Rantau Panjang.

According to the Public Infobanjir portal, Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang is now at a warning level of 8.0 metres, compared to the danger level of 9.39 metres recorded last night.

Meanwhile, in JOHOR, the number of evacuees remains at 69 people from 17 families, who are currently housed at two PPS, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan Gembut and Balai Raya Kampung Perpat in Kota Tinggi district.

State Disaster Management Committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, in a statement, said the water level at the Sungai Simpang Kanan station in Parit Belemam, Batu Pahat, remains at the alert level with a reading of 2.31 metres.
