Passengers will soon be able to fly between Chandigarh and Noida in just one hour, with a direct daily flight connecting Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport and Noida International Airport from July 1.
The service is expected to provide seamless connectivity for travellers from the region to Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.
The flight will leave Noida at 6.10 am and reach Chandigarh at 7.10 am. The return flight will depart from Chandigarh at 7.30 am and arrive at Noida International Airport at 8.35 am.
The airfare is expected to be around Rs 3,850, which is comparable to fares for flights operating to and from Delhi Airport.
Officials said an additional flight service would be introduced on two days a week from July 13. This flight will depart from Noida at 9.55 am and arrive in Chandigarh at 10.55 am. The return service will leave Chandigarh at 12.20 pm and reach Noida at 1.35 pm.
At present, passengers travelling to Noida and nearby areas have to land at Delhi Airport and then undertake a road journey of nearly 100 km. The new direct service is expected to save more than two hours of travel time, particularly for residents of western Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Noida-Amritsar flight service commenced operations on June 15.
