The internet has done it again — this time, convincing millions that we’ve finally conquered gravity with a pair of AI-generated “flying shoes. ”
Behold, the Aerofoot: humanity’s latest collective delusion, where men in kanduras cheer as another man hovers majestically above the ground like a Marvel extra.
Videos of models levitating down a catwalk and executives floating backwards in corporate attire flooded social media, and the world gasped — “At last, the future has arrived!”
Except, of course, it hasn’t.
The so-called Aerofoot wasn’t unveiled at Gitex 2029. It wasn’t unveiled anywhere, because it doesn’t exist. It was merely a digital daydream from a talented artist, Jyo John Mulloor, who never claimed it was real. But that didn’t stop millions from believing we were all about to trade in our sneakers for anti-gravity slippers.
This, dear readers, is where humanity stands in 2025 — floating not on technology, but on gullibility.
Every time a sleek, futuristic clip surfaces online, we leap higher than the imaginary shoes themselves. We’re ready to believe that Apple will sell teleportation apps by next year, or that Elon Musk has discovered invisible fuel made from moon dust. And the more “AI-generated” something looks, the more we want to believe it’s real.
Mulloor’s Aerofoot proves two things: first, that AI can now generate hallucinations so convincing they make us question physics; and second, that our craving for spectacle has officially outpaced our capacity for skepticism.
In a world desperate for miracles — from flying cars to honest politicians — even digital art becomes gospel.
So no, we won’t be gliding to work anytime soon. But if you must float, you can always do so in the same way as the rest of the internet — on hot air, hype, and hashtags.
Welcome to the future, folks. It’s not in motion. It’s just emotionally manipulated.
