Kota Kinabalu: Amanah Perpaduan Sabah President Datuk Seri Wilfred M Bumburing urges the Federal Government to think carefully about any policy connected to the current conflict in the Middle East, especially when it concerns Malaysia’s multiracial and multireligious population.
He said that rather than focusing on a war hundreds of kilometres away, the Federal Government should concentrate, prioritise and allocate essential resources to solving the mother of all problems confronting Sabah, namely the influx of illegal immigrants.
“The government has yet to develop a definitive action plan to address the issue (of illegal immigrants in Sabah),” he said in a statement, here, Sunday.
He said that the burden of stateless children in the State is the outcome of the authority’s long-standing inaction, to the extent that there is a discernible shift in the State’s demographic landscape.
