
The Food and Civil Supplies Department has suspended its inspector, Ankur Jangra, for negligence in duty after a video of water being sprayed on wheat stocks came to light in Kurukshetra.
As per the information, a video of water being sprayed at the stack of wheat bags, at Alampur village, had come to light following which a group of farmers — under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Shaheed Bhagat Singh) — had demanded action against the officials concerned. The union had asked the administration to fix the accountability of the officials.
Following the complaint, the Kurukshetra deputy commissioner had constituted a committee to investigate the matter, and on the basis of the report, Director General Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Anshaj Singh, issued orders to suspend inspector Ankur Jangra, with immediate effect.
During the period of suspension, his headquarter is fixed in the office of DFSC Sirsa.
Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena informed that the district administration took cognizance of the incident involving the spraying of water on wheat stocks and constituted a committee on May 22. The committee was tasked to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and submit its report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The inquiry committee constituted by the administration was headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shahabad, while the District Manager of HAFED, Kurukshetra, was appointed as a member. The committee’s investigation revealed negligence on the part of Inspector Ankur Jangra, and the findings were subsequently forwarded to the department. Acting on the basis of this report, the department has suspended Inspector Ankur Jangra.
