SANDAKAN: The creation of a food corridor for Borneo elephants downstream of the Kinabatangan River will help reduce the conflict between humans and elephants in the area.

Several concerned parties discussed ways to minimise or resolve the problem following the intrusion of a Borneo elephant at SMK Telupid on March 1, 2018.

The mission to look after the welfare of Borneo elephants led by the RESPonsible Elephant Conservation Trust (Respect) is now one step forward with the cooperation of Intrepid Foundation set up by Intrepid Travel.

Respect Chairman Alexander Yee said he is excited about the collaboration.
