KOTA KINABALU: Authorities have intensified food safety enforcement at Sabah’s Ramadan bazaars, inspecting 1,152 stalls and issuing 34 fines totalling RM5,200, said State Health Director Dr Maria Suleiman.

A total of 682 officers have been deployed to monitor hygiene across 91 bazaars, while 4,065 operators have undergone food safety training.

Checks on 2,393 food handlers revealed 97 per cent compliance with typhoid vaccinations and food handling requirements.
