Kota Kinabalu: Minister in charge of Islamic affairs in Sabah, Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin bin Mohd Arif assured that it is easy to find Halal and ‘Toyyiban’ (food safe to be eaten, good and not harmful) food in Sabah.
He said Halal and Toyyiban must be complied by applicants prior to issuance of halal certification to food premise owners via Halal Hub of Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis).
“One of our focuses this year is to strengthen the halal certification managed by Muis’s Halal Hub under the Malaysia Islamic Development Department (Jakim) here.
“There are hundreds of halal certificates we have issued under the Jakim Halal logo before and we will strengthen this,” said Dr Mohd Arifin, who is also Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.
