A 53-year-old homeless man has been taken into custody following the brutal murder of a female food vendor, whose body was discovered near the Kuantan River, close to the Tanjung Lumpur Bridge. Following the suspect’s arrest, police successfully obtained a seven-day remand order to facilitate further investigations. The case is currently being treated as a homicide under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
