A football coach in Kota Tinggi has been arrested for allegedly sodomising and molesting a 15-year-old male neighbour at a village hut.
KOTA TINGGI: Police have detained a football coach on suspicion of sodomising and molesting a male teenager.
The alleged incident occurred at a hut in front of the suspect’s residence in Kampung Gembut, Tanjung Sedili last Thursday.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Yusuf Othman said the 15-year-old victim lodged a report himself a day after the incident.
Police arrested the man, who is in his 50s, at the same village on the same day to assist in investigations.
“They are neighbours, and this was the first time the incident occurred,” Yusuf said in a statement.
Investigations found that the suspect has no prior criminal record.
An investigation paper was opened under Section 377C of the Penal Code.
The suspect was remanded for four days until today.
