The name is derived from the Sanskrit language, which was adopted into Malay: putra means “son” and jaya means “success” or “victory”; hence Putrajaya means “victorious men” or “victorious people”. My family & I live in this high-tech garden city whereas my daughter, Jann & family reside nearby Cyberjaya.
It is most fitting that ‘Q’ Bistro chain of restaurants decided to open a new outlet at Putrajaya Lakefront near the Monument of New Millennium (Monumen Alaf Baru) & the Iron Mosque (Masjid Besi). The new brand features a prominent, modern setting designed for community gatherings, while retaining the signature high-quality mamak-style of food. It held an open house during the grand opening, aimed to be a landmark for people from all walks of life.
My wife, Zarina & I joined thousands of people at the grand opening of the new branch of ‘Q’ Bistro Putrajaya Lakefront. We enjoyed the a diverse menu of its signature food with a broad range of tastes including Eid al-Fitr dishes like lemang, ketupat and satay. I understand ‘Q’ Bistro chains is expanding as a popular, modern dining brand in the Klang Valley, and the Putrajaya Lakefront location is designed to blend local food culture with scenic surroundings.
