Ford to recall about 413,000 SUVs in US over potential loss of steering control, NHTSA says

Ford recalls 453,429 U.S. Explorers for rear suspension, battery, and brake issues, risking steering loss and crashes. Free repairs offered

Ford is recalling ⁠412,774 Explorer SUVs in the U.S., citing ​an issue with ‌rear suspension toe ​links, which may fracture, leading to a loss ​of steering control, the U.S. ⁠National ‌Highway Traffic ​Safety ​Administration said on Tuesday.

The ​regulator suggested that the dealers replace the toe links free of ‌charge as a remedy for the affected vehicles.

Separately, Ford will also recall an ⁠additional ‌40,655 vehicles in the U.S. over battery failures and ​defects with brake pedals, ​which ​increase the risk ‌of ​a crash.
