PENAMPANG: A foreign man, 34, was arrested in Putatan in connection with a reported child sexual assault case involving a female student.
The arrest was made at 6pm on 28 July by police from the Putatan Police Station following intelligence and public tip-offs.
The case was linked to a police report filed in Putatan on June 22.

Commendations were also extended to the officers and personnel involved for their swift action.
The suspect is currently in remand while investigators complete the case file.
The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a penalty of imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
