A 58-year-old Indian national has died while on a Malaysian Airlines (MAS) flight from KL to Sydney on Wednesday (Sept 16).
According to news.com.au, the victim suffered an asthma attack during the eight-hour flight, which landed at Sydney Airport at 7.43pm local time.
New South Wales Police later confirmed they were called to the international terminal about 5.50pm after being told that the victim had a medical emergency.
However, no further action was carried by police as they found nothing suspicious in the victim’s death.
MAS’ statement
Meanwhile, MAS confirmed the incident, with its spokesperson saying that efforts to resuscitate the victim during the flight had failed.
It added that three nurses, a doctor and a cabin crew member on board rushed to the victim’s side and performed CPR after the emergency occurred.
Unfortunately, the victim was eventually pronounced dead by the doctor on-board.
The airline also extended its condolences to the victim’s family and apologised to passengers who were affected by the incident.
