TAWAU: A 54-year-old foreign man was arrested for allegedly raping his 19-year-old stepdaughter at a house in Semporna.
Tawau acting police chief Supt Champin Piuh said the suspect was apprehended at around 6.50pm last Wednesday at an oil palm plantation here.
The arrest followed a police report lodged at the Sri Indah Police Station by the victim’s cousin, who was in Tawau at the time.
The victim had informed her cousin via a phone call at about 8pm that she had been raped by her stepfather at her home.
Champin said the unemployed suspect is being remanded for further investigation.
