PENAMPANG: A 34-year-old Pakistani was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a female student in Putatan, following a police report lodged last month.
The case went viral on social media.
Acting on public information and intelligence, a team from the Putatan Police Station tracked down the suspect in Putatan at 6pm on Monday (July 28).

The suspect is currently under remand.
The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, which carries penalties of imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
