
TAWAU: A 34-year-old foreigner was saved after he attempted suicide in the sea, here, Monday afternoon.
District Fire and Rescue Station chief Jemishin Ujin said the nearly-drowned man was rescued by a fisherman who spotted him.
“Two firefighters swam 200 metres to reach the fisherman’s boat to calm the victim and brought him to the shore.
“He was then brought to the hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement, Monday.
