Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper was delighted for Callum Hudson-Odoi after their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Monday night.
Hudson-Odoi hit a screamer to cancel out Zeki Amdouni's opener for the visitors to earn Forest a point. Lyle Foster was later sent off for Burnley.
Cooper said afterwards: "I thought we were good in the first phase of the game. We didn't make enough of the positions we got in.
"The build-up, positioning and momentum was good but you need to be more of a threat in the Premier League. With new players coming in it was never going to be a complete performance. Second half we were good again. There were chances coming, you hope a goal.
"It's probably the first goal we scored like that since we've been in the Premier League. We will support Callum Hudson-Odoi and give him everything. A lot has happened in his life since I last worked with him.
"I'm excited to work with him again. I want him to think about the goal for 20 minutes and then think about how to get better. A few games down the line he probably will be more productive.
"We want to be winning games here. Maybe at times last year we don't get anything out of a game like this."
On VAR, he added: "Morgan had a shot blocked by a hand. They had one disallowed. I don't know. I keep thinking about what happened to us at Old Trafford a few weeks ago. I haven't seen the handball, apparently it was a clear handball."
