Premier League new-boys Nottingham Forest are chasing Mainz defender Moussa Niakhate.
Sky Deutschland says Forest have held talks with the Mainz captain.
Mainz are preparing to sell Niakhate this summer, with a starting price of €12m. He has a contract with Mainz to 2023.
The 05's will sell given his contract situation.
Forest are now in talks, though Niakhate has also been linked with West Ham United, Everton and Newcastle United in recent months. West Ham see Niakhate as a replacement for Angelo Ogbonna.
