A FOREST fire involving an estimated area of 0.8 hectares broke out on a hilltop near an apartment complex in Taman Tun Abdul Razak here on Monday night, authorities said.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Hamdan Hamzah said the department received an emergency call reporting the incident at 8.47pm.
He said four firefighters and a fire engine from the Ampang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene shortly after the alert.
“The fire involved a forested area on the hilltop, and personnel are on standby at the location as there is no access route to the fire area,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Hamdan said the situation was currently under control and the fire had not spread to nearby areas. - February 3, 2026
