Nottingham Forest are assessing free agent Aaron Martin for their left back position.
The Premier League side are determined to have a better season next term, despite avoiding relegation.
Per The Mail, Martin is seen as a cut price deal that Forest can do to improve their squad.
Forest did want to sign Carlos Augusto from Monza, but he is also wanted by Italian giants Internazionale.
Given he would rather move to the Champions League finalists, Forest may have to settle for Martin.
The latter is out of contract at Mainz this summer and is available on a free.
