
Jaibir Singh Arya, a retired IAS officer, was felicitated at his native village in Mirchpur for his contribution to rural development and public welfare programmes during his stint in the government service.
The felicitation event organised at the village and was attended by IAS officer Yashendra Singh and Capt Manoj Kumar, besides khap leaders and villagers.
Dhanda khap pradhan Devvrat Dhanda said Jaibir Singh Arya was known as the “Aam Aadmi DC” because he prioritised the problems of underprivileged people, farmers, labourers and common man.
A Barha khap representative stated that while serving as General Manager of the Haryana Roadways, Arya had introduced a bus service from Delhi to Kheri Chopta village, benefiting rural students, especially girls pursuing education.
While he was posted as Deputy Commissioner in Bhiwani, Arya became popular as the “Aam Aadmi DC” and “Panchayati DC”. During his tenure, around Rs 500 crore worth of government land was freed from encroachments and land mafias, he said.
