KOTA KINABALU: Former Kian Kok Middle School student Sim Tiam Shi has marked a major step in her academic journey after receiving the State Government Scholarship.
The 2023 SPM high-achiever, who scored 10As, is now pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science at the University of Western Australia.
Sim was an active member of her school’s Mandarin debate team, earning national and state-level recognition for her composure and analytical strength.
She thanked the Sabah Government for the opportunity to study abroad, saying the scholarship has strengthened her resolve to keep progressing and represent the state with pride.
Her teachers and family say her success reflects her discipline and steady support system, and the school hopes her story encourages more Sabah youth to pursue their goals with confidence.
