Former MI6 chief Sir Alex Younger has urged President Trump to push back against Vladimir Putin's “maximalist demands”, claiming the US president has “far more power that even he realises”.
Speaking on ITV’s Peston programme yesterday (11 March), he told host Robert Peston: “Putin only has one plan, which is to flatter Trump into giving him what he wants.”
Younger’s comments come as Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is reportedly planning a second visit to Moscow for talks with the Russian president.
