A FORMER minister arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters this morning at 10:01am, continuing his testimony in a probe believed to involve approximately RM5 million in alleged bribes and a white Lamborghini luxury vehicle.
Attempts by the media to obtain comment from the former minister were unsuccessful. He had reportedly spent more than seven hours at the commission yesterday, being questioned in connection with allegations of corruption tied to billboard projects and the transfer of government land in the capital.
Sources indicate he left the MACC offices at around 5:50pm after arriving at approximately 10:30am.
According to prior media reports, the former minister is alleged to have received bribes connected to these billboard ventures and high-value land transfers. The luxury Lamborghini in question was reportedly provided by a billboard manufacturing company.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, of the confirmed that the investigation is being conducted under Section 16 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
Earlier reports also indicated that the former Cabinet member, whose tenure predates the COVID-19 pandemic, has been a focal point of the MACC’s investigation.
The probe is said to relate to alleged misconduct during his service in a ministry, including the transfer of a high-value parcel of government land to a prominent property developer.
The ongoing inquiry reflects intensified oversight of alleged corruption in past public sector transactions and has drawn significant public attention due to the scale of the alleged bribes and involvement of luxury assets. - December 30, 2025
