Former PM Muhyiddin charged with receiving RM232.5m bribe

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to four counts of abuse of power in relation to the Jana Wibawa programme to obtain RM232.5 million for Bersatu.

The charges against Muhyiddin, who is Pagoh member of Parliament, were read out before Justice Azura Alwi.

Yesterday, the MACC confirmed that Muhyiddin was arrested at 1 pm at the commission’s headquarters in Putrajaya after giving his statement, and was released on MACC bail at about 8.20 pm.
