Ever since British alternative rock band Coldplay announced that it is going on tour in Southeast Asia, it seems that the region has been hit with “Coldplay-fever”, with seemingly never-ending discussions on the concert on social media.

Besides Malaysia, the band is also performing in our neighbouring country Indonesia and just like our country, many fans missed out on getting tickets to the show due to incredible demand.

Seeing the buzz and being a fan of the band himself, an Indonesian singer took the opportunity to capitalise on the “Coldplay-fever” for his very own concert in the country.

Cheekily-named ‘Forplay – Tribute to Coldplay”, the singer, Aldi Taher announced that the concert will be held on 3 July and just like the Coldplay concert in Indonesia, the tickets were immediately sold out after it was made available.

In fact, the Forplay – Tribute to Coldplay’s ticket concert actually has a VIP tier that is more expensive than the actual Coldplay concert, priced at Rp100 million or approximately RM31,039, all of which were also sold out!

As reported by Tribun News, the Indonesian singer said that he decided to hold the concert because he’s famous in the country for his various Coldplay covers on social media.

Furthermore, the concert itself is for a noble cause, whereby all proceeds from ticket sales will go to a cancer charity. Aldi Taher himself is a cancer survivor, suffering from lymph node cancer in 2016.

The singer also recently went viral for his song “Messi please come to Indonesia” which as the name suggests, was directed toward the global football superstar, inviting him to come to the country. The song was actually used by the official FIFA World Cup Instagram account for a video featuring Lionel Messi.

So, what do you guys think of Aldi Taher’s Forplay concert? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
