
RANAU: A three-vehicle collision left four people injured, one of them seriously, at Jalan Sabah Tea, here, Saturday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the 11.46am incident involved an eight-tonne lorry laden with sand, a Perodua Axia and an Isuzu Trooper.
He said the department received a call through MERS999 and deployed eight personnel led by Operations Commander Mastin Suli to the scene some 18km from the station.
“There were four victims. A man in the Axia and two men in the lorry suffered minor injuries and were given initial treatment by the EMRS team.

Read more “The seriously injured 64-year-old man, who was trapped in the wrecked Trooper, was successfully extricated and sent to Ranau Hospital using the EMRS (Emergency Medical Rescue Service) vehicle for further treatment,” he added.
According to Riduan, the situation caused a temporary traffic congestion and after ensuring there was no more danger, the operation ended at 12.51pm.
