Four people, including a 10-year-old girl, died in a five-vehicle crash on the Johor Bahru–Ayer Hitam road today.

KLUANG: Four people, including a 10-year-old girl, have died in a crash on the Johor Bahru–Ayer Hitam road, opposite Simpang Renggam Prison, today.

Renggam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, senior fire officer II Ismail Mamat, said an emergency call was received at 1.16 pm regarding the five-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Vios, a Perodua Alza, a Proton Wira, a Mercedes E240 and a BMW.

He said a SITRAK fire engine and five personnel rushed to the scene, where they found several victims still trapped inside the Toyota Vios.

“The victims from the Toyota Vios were pronounced dead at the scene. One of them, an elderly woman, had been thrown from the car and was found on top of the Mercedes,” he said in a statement today.

“The deceased have been identified as Mohd Aiman Mohd Rashid, 36, Nur Airish Syifa Sidek, 10, Nor Azlina Abd. Latif, 33, and Semek Mat Soh, 73,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Kluang police chief, when contacted, said a statement on the fatal crash would be released later.
