Police in Melaka Tengah arrested four men and seized heroin worth RM17,000 in two separate raids on January 28.

MELAKA TENGAH: Police arrested four men for suspected drug trafficking in two separate raids here on January 28.

Melaka Tengah district police chief ACP Christopher Patit said the first raid in Tanjung Minyak led to the arrest of two men, aged 31 and 35.

A follow-up check at a house in Taman Bertam Setia uncovered 21 plastic packets containing 26.68 grams of heroin.

A second raid at an oil palm plantation in Krubong resulted in the arrest of two more men in their 30s.

Police found 50 plastic packets filled with 137.82 grams of heroin during the plantation operation.

The total drug seizures, along with three motorcycles worth RM11,500, have a combined value of RM17,000.

All four suspects tested negative for drugs in initial screenings.

They have been remanded for seven days from January 29 to February 4 to assist investigations.

The case is being probed under Section 38B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
