Elizabeth Holmes isn’t the only star of the new documentary You Can See Everything.
*WARNING: Spoilers ahead for You Can See Everything.*
The film follows disgraced Theranos founder Holmes and her fiance Billy Evans in the weeks leading up to her prison stay. Holmes was convicted in January 2022 on four counts of fraud and conspiracy for lying about the capabilities of her biotech company’s blood testing technology and conning investors out of millions of dollars. She was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. The documentary — filmed in secret over the course of three years and co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Primetime’s Lance Oppenheim — lands in U.S. theaters Friday.
Prior to the documentary, not much was known about Evans, who is heir to the Evans Hotel Group. After meeting in 2017, the two were engaged in 2018, though whether or not they have been legally married remains a mystery. They share two children.
The film sheds new light on Evans (for better or worse) and his relationship with Holmes. Here, we round up four of the biggest revelations made about Evans in the documentary.

1. Evans wanted to profit from the film
Once Holmes surrenders herself to the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, where she continues to serve her stay, the film focuses a bit more on Evans. It’s then that audiences learn that a conversation was held between Holmes, Evans, Fielder, Oppenheim, and executives at A24 before any release forms had been signed — meaning that conversation was not filmed.
Fielder explained that during the discussion, Holmes excused herself to check on her children, which is when Evans broached the topic of money. He asked to receive a share of the film’s profits. Fielder explained how that might impact the film’s creative control and how it’s perceived by viewers.
However, Fielder said that A24 felt that they had to agree with Evans.
Ultimately, Evans declined to profit from the film, as was revealed via on-screen text at the end.
2. Evans admitted he didn’t tell Holmes about the potential profit from the film
Fielder grew wary of Evans and whether or not he told Holmes about the potential profit from the film after recalling a conversation he had with the Theranos founder before she went to prison.
Holmes made an offhanded comment to Fielder, saying, that she was “obviously not making any money” or “having any economic interest in this whatsoever.”
When confronted by Fielder about whether Holmes knew, Evans admitted to withholding that information from her.
“I purposely didn’t want her to be aware of it,” Evans said of the money.
3. Evans made his feelings about Charlie Kirk and guns clear
In a particularly heated dinner table conversation with Fielder (and surprise guest Amanda Seyfried), Evans and Seyfriend get a bit heated about social media. Evans pointed out that Seyfried was getting dragged for her comments about Charlie Kirk, the controversial Turning Point USA founder who was shot and killed in September 2025.
Evans then came out as a supporter of Kirk.
“I hope his voice carries far,” Evans said about the late conservative activist.
Evans also stated that he carries a gun 24/7 for his own safety.
4. Evans admitted to running Holmes’s X account — and claims he’s her power of attorney
Holmes’s X account has remained active despite the fact that she remains behind bars. That’s because Evans is doing most of the posting on her behalf.
He claimed that Holmes emails him things she wants posted on the platform. But he also admitted to posting things of his own.
“Most things I don’t consult her on,” Evans said of Holmes, chalking it up to the “trust” in their relationship.
Questions about posts on Holmes’s X account continue to surface. Just weeks before the film’s theatrical release, the account retweeted a video posted by Donald Trump which highlighted his administration’s achievements and added the caption: “We are winning.” The post has fueled rumors that Holmes is angling for a pardon from the president.
Holmes formally submitted a petition for clemency to the Justice Department’s Office of the Pardon Attorney last December, which remains listed as pending.
Evans also claimed that he is Holmes’s power of attorney despite the fact that she is alive and well. While specific details weren’t divulged, this likely means he has the ability to make key decisions about Holmes’s finances and health.
You Can See Everything premieres in theaters October 16.
