FOUR male students preparing to take the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination next month have been remanded for six days on suspicion of the sequential rape of a female pupil at a school in Melaka last week.
Melaka Police Chief, Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, confirmed the remand order against the four 17-year-old suspects was issued by Senior Assistant Registrar S R Arthana at the Ayer Keroh Magistrates’ Court to assist with the investigation.
"The remand of all the suspects begins today and runs until October 16, and the case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang-rape.
"The case, involving a 15-year-old victim, is still under further police investigation," he said in a statement on Saturday.
It was previously reported that the alleged sequential rape occurred around 2.50pm on October 2 in a classroom at a school in Alor Gajah, and the act was reportedly recorded on a mobile phone by two of the suspects.
The incident came to light after the victim's mother received information about the video's circulation from a school teacher before lodging a police report. - October 11, 2025
