A four-year-old boy has died after being found in a homestay pool in Port Dickson, with the case classified as sudden death

PORT DICKSON: A four-year-old boy is believed to have drowned in a homestay swimming pool here last night.

Port Dickson police chief Supt Maslan Udin said police were notified of the incident by the Emergency Department of Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban.

Preliminary investigations found the pool where the victim was discovered was approximately 1.5 metres deep and nine metres long.

The boy received initial treatment at Port Dickson Hospital before being transferred to HTJ’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit around 6 pm.

The attending doctor pronounced the child dead at 8.40 pm.

Police have classified the case as sudden death. – Bernama
