  • The White House state dinner for King Charles and Queen Camilla drew a diverse guest list, including high-ranking British and American politicians, Supreme Court justices, and prominent tech leaders such as Jeff Bezos and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
  • Other attendees included Yvette Cooper, Pete Hegseth, Rory McIlroy, professional golfer and Erica McIlroy, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Jesse Watters, Fox News host and Emma Watters.
  • The event, designed to honour the relationship between the US and the UK, featured a three-course meal and dessert made with honey from Melania Trump’s beehive.
  • During his toast, Donald Trump highlighted the “special relationship” between the two countries, while King Charles made several jokes, including a reference to Mr Trump’s proposed East Wing ballroom, which he compared to the British burning of the White House in 1814.
  • The dinner followed King Charles’s address to the US Congress earlier in the day, where he acknowledged the importance of US-UK ties, emphasised their ability to unite despite disagreements, and spoke on American democracy and the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
