FPAM certifies 365 financial professionals, with 276 earning CFP and 89 IFP qualifications, strengthening Malaysia’s financial planning industry

A TOTAL of 365 financial professionals have completed certification modules under the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM), with 276 receiving the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification and 89 completing the Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) certification.

The new certificants from the September 2025, December 2025 and March 2026 cohorts were recognised at FPAM’s Graduation Day 2026 ceremony here today.

FPAM president Alvin Tan said the certifications represented more than academic achievement, stressing the importance of trust and ethical standards in financial planning.

“Whether you apply it in professional practice or in your own life, the standard behind this certification matters – TRUST.

“Trust in the advice given, trust in the decisions made, and trust in the integrity of the person carrying the mark,” he said in his welcome address.

Graduates were presented with their scrolls and pins during a ceremony marking their entry into the CFP and IFP practitioner communities.

The ceremony also recognised graduates who achieved the highest examination scores, as well as education providers whose training programmes contributed to the candidates’ performance.

FPAM said the latest cohort represented a broad cross-section of Malaysia’s financial services industry, with graduates coming from banking, insurance, wealth management, estate planning, financial planning and financial advisory backgrounds.

The CFP certification assesses candidates across six core areas of financial planning – investment planning, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, insurance, and risk management.

FPAM said the certification is recognised internationally as a benchmark for financial planning professionals and is built around professional and ethical standards.

The association said its role would continue beyond the graduation ceremony, with certified members receiving access to continuing education, networking opportunities and professional resources to support their development as the financial services industry evolves.
