- France has praised the EU's controversial Entry-Exit System (EES), stating it has "proven its worth" since its launch on 12 October 2025, despite calls from airport bosses to scrap it.
- The French Ministry of the Interior reported over 110 million entries and exits recorded, with more than 44,000 entry refusals, including 1,100 individuals deemed a threat to internal security.
- The EES requires non-EU nationals, such as those from the UK, to provide fingerprints and a photograph upon entering the Schengen area, aiming to enhance internal security and detect irregular stays.
- While other European airports have experienced queues up to six hours long since the EES phased rollout ended on 10 April, France claims it has not faced "any major congestion" due to its "pragmatic use" of the system.
- France, alongside eight other member states, has requested that temporary EES emergency safeguards remain in place beyond the 6 September deadline and has hired 350 additional staff to manage the system.
